Parton Parish Council is delighted to announce the appointment of our new Parish Clerk, Mrs Jane Coltman, who has officially started in her role working for Parton.

A bit about me….. April 2020 – I am delighted to be joining the Parton community as your newly appointed Clerk to the Parish Council. I look forward to working alongside your councillors, helping them to improve local facilities and services by offering them independent advice and support in their endeavours.

I made West Cumbria my home over 30 years ago. Having grown up in the city of Leicester I was in awe of the beauty of the area; perfectly placed between the majestic fells and lakes to one side and the deserted sandy beaches with glorious sunsets to the other – it was a stark contrast to my urban upbringing!

I welcome this opportunity to be able to contribute to the area. Although I live a little further down the coast at Seascale, I also work in Workington and I view the whole of the area as my home.

My employment background is in administration and finance and I have been Managing Director of Linden Upholstery Limited in Workington since 2006. This position has equipped me with an understanding of legal obligations in reporting, accounting, record keeping, data retention and health and safety requirements to name but a few. I’m pleased that I can put this experience to good use for the benefit of the community. I’ll be your primary point of contact for general enquires.
