Local Financial Help – For Residents

1. £300 council tax relief will automatically be applied, for the financial year 2020/21, to those in receipt of the working age Council Tax Support benefit. This support will be processed without the need for an application and revised council tax bills confirming the reduction will be sent to eligible households in due course. People should continue to pay their existing amount until their new bill arrives. There is also a small fund to support those not in receipt of this benefit, who have been significantly financially affected by Covid-19. If you are not in receipt of this benefit and are suffering significant financial hardship because of the current pandemic, please complete and send the Covid-19 Council Tax Hardship Application Form available at https://www.copeland.gov.uk/council-tax.
