Information to follow in due course regarding the Councils location / times / meet.
A note from the Chair Councillor R Huck as follows:
“Given these unchartered and unprecedented circumstances, it would be totally irresponsible for us to go ahead with the VE Day Celebrations, particularly with many of our likely attendees being vulnerable, senior citizens. Consequently the celebrations will be postponed until further notice. The official VE Day website has encouraged everyone to go ahead and raise a glass, in the safety of your own homes, to acknowledge, respect and recognise that very special and momentous day, when the horrors of the Second World War ended. Please do this.
We will keep you fully informed of our plans to celebrate the event, as and when it is able to happen.
‘RINGING OUT FOR PEACE’ 8TH MAY 2020 – VE DAY
A letter to all councils to update and encourage us to take part in the ‘Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW 2’ and the ringing of church bells as part of the nationwide ‘Ringing Out for Peace’ on the 8th May 2020 – VE Day.
Your early, valuable assistance would be extremely appreciated.
My warmest regards,
Bruno Peek LVO OBE OPR
